“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know”.

Carl Rogers, A Way of Being, 1980

Hello, my name is Peter Williamson and thank you for contacting me at ReallyHeard.com, which is the website for my psychotherapeutic counselling practice.

I can understand why you may have arrived at this page. Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed by life’s circumstances or that things aren’t feeling quite ‘on track’, or how we’d like them to be.  We may be affected by low-mood, depression or anxiety, or be encountering difficulties in managing life’s challenges. These may involve our work, relationships, how we cope with loss or change, or how we relate to others.

I appreciate that you may be feeling nervous and apprehensive about starting therapy. Whatever the origins of your discomfort, I am ready to offer you a safe (confidential, non-judgmental) space where you will be really heard, understood and have an opportunity to explore what is troubling you.

Working together in this way will provide opportunities for you to achieve personal discovery, growth and change.  I will aim to empower you to navigate through your challenges, make informed decisions in pursuit of your goals, and alleviate your discomfort. I have proven experience of working in this way with many clients in a range of public and private sector settings, including the NHS, my private practice, charities and the hospice movement.

If you choose to work with me I will strive to honour your courage and the trust you place in me as we embark on this venture together.

Want to know more?  Then head to my Contact page and complete a form and we can arrange a mutually convenient time to speak.
